"Attention WoW PvPers, the time has come!
This Friday, June 4th, & 2pm PST - I'll be hosting a Shadowlands PvP interview with the one and only @Holinka.
If there are any topics you'd like me to address, please respond to this thread with your questions!
Very excited about this."
The last PVP Q&A was back in 2014. This should be good! I'll post the stream on our feature stream on the homepage when this goes live.

TLDW (summary from Reddit)
-
They are aware of the MC bug (yay!) and are trying to recreate it but it's apparently more difficult to address than we think.
-
A catch-up system is being considered for 9.1.5, where conquest earned for a fresh 60 is faster, but not to the point of trivializing the experience of gearing up your character.
-
They are actively juggling options to increase RBG participation. 6v6
will not be addedwill not be added in the immediate future, and they want to make RBGs more rewarding by "starting fresh". -
Solo queue isn't currently an option for the immediate future, but LFG improvements are being considered (again) in 9.1.5 at the earliest. Sounds like this might include being able to browse groups and list groups simultaneously. Reason why solo queue isn't considered for right now is because it has the opportunity to give bad comps.
-
The theme of arena pacing is they want 3-7 minute games, and "people need to die" was a thing Holinka stressed. In other words, if you don't like the fast pacing of current arena, that's not looking to change. They also have the battlemaster trinket in their sights as a way of making that happen, as it's currently a bit too powerful.
-
Paradoxically, Holinka said he wants fewer DPS cooldowns but wants to make spammable/builder abilities more powerful. Two recent examples for this is frost mage with frostbolt/shatter and (maybe?) DH reduction to the hunt while buffing other attacks.
-
They are aware of, and are currently trying to fix, the wide gap in gear between a fresh 60 late in the season and someone who has full PVP gear.
-
No intention of adding important titles like r1/glad to 2v2 or rbg.
-
No intention of adding more pvp talents but will tweak existing proposed pvp talents
-
They are looking at hybrid healing because of #5 (people not dying fast enough).
-
Cross-faction queue was mentioned, but Holinka sounded very skeptical of the idea.
12) BOOSTING WAS NOT MENTIONED. (as far as I remember).
13) Specific specs' power was not mentioned or discussed (mage/ret/warrior), so class balance wasn't really a topic
14) This is a big one - Holinka admitted that the MMR in 9.0.5 was a bit deflated and said they will intentionally create more inflation that will span the entire season in order to reward people who play every week to incentivize higher participation. He said he does not want to introduce CR decay because this may punish people who legitimately have to step away for a while, but wants to introduce a carrot approach to make people queue week after week.
Overall it sounds like they are fully aware of the existing issues in PVP and actually have a number of solutions at hand. I was happy at the answers, despite some of these solutions seeming like half-steps when we would sometimes like to see more done (solo queue as opposed to LFG).
